      <description>
        <h2>This program provides several remote access and sharing capabilities</h2>
        <p>It allows remote control of a computer by a person sat at a remote computer. The feature that sets this apart from Logmenin is that you do not need a user account on the central computer in order to use it. Two people can download the software, run it without installation, and one can access the other. Security in this case is vai a unique session password that is different each time. This must be communicated by some means (telephone, text message, email etc) to the partner. with this password the remote user can connect. Neither needs to install the software.</p>
        <p>If the software is installed then the password can be fixed (avoiding the need to pass this over each time) and the computer can be set up so that the software starts on boot. This permits the remnote user to reboot and regain control. This works even booting into Safe Mode. [As far as I recall the last time I evaluated this product it could not do this.]</p>
        <h2>As with all such Remote Access software - you have to trust the person that can connect in this way.</h2>
        <note>As this software is much easier to setup (no accounts are needed) the Contributor will propose this software for future support requests.</note>
        <warn>The computer being used to for access can store the access code locally to avoid it being re-entered each time. I still have some unanswered questions about where and how this is stored. It is hoped to resolve these questions soon and remove this caveat. The company has been quite responsive in answering email - good for a free product. I hope to have a telephone conversation with them next week.</warn>

      <AppName>Logmein</AppName>

      <description>
        <p>This program allows a remote computer to connect to your computer</p>
        <warn>If this program is installed the it will allow a remote user (e.g. the contributer) to connect to your computer, whether you are present or not, as an administrator and access any data stored on your computer.</warn>
        <h2>You have to trust the person that can connect in this way.</h2>
        <warn>The safeguard is that the person connection needs an administration account password on the controlled computer.</warn>
        <p>As a Logmein account is required to install this software it will normally be installed under the direction of a person that you have asked for help (e.g. the contributor) or directly by the contributor.</p>
        <p>When installed it allows the trusted person to access any data (using administration priviledges), It also allows the trusted person to reboot the machine, even into safe moide, abd perform moist tasks that would otherwise need to be physically present.</p>
        <note>Logmein has served well for several years. The main issue has been that a computer can only added if there is a valid Logmein account. With the free version whis smetimes causes problems. Teamviewer eliminates these issues and works just as well and is therefore recmmended for new connections.</note>

    <App>
      <AppName>CrossLoop</AppName>
      <AppUrl>https://www.crossloop.com/download.htm</AppUrl>
      <description>
        <h2>Crossloop is a remote control technology that can be installed by a user (in contrast to logmein which requires to be installed by a registed account).</h2>
        <p>The program can be downloaded and installed from the web site. When run it will invite you to create an account each time it is run but this is not necessary - when remote support is required - select LATER.</p>
        <p>The user requiring support will select "Share" and will be shown an access code. This must be communicated to the person supplying support e.g. by email, text message, Instant Message, telephone. They will then be able to initiate a connection to your computer.</p>
        <p>The person providing support will need to have Crossloop installed but will select the "access" option and will need to enter the access code displayed on the user's end of the link.</p>
        <warn>Do not create an account - it is not needed for basic remote control.</warn>
        <note>The contributer can use this method access to provide basic support but where this is insufficient could use this to install Logmein avoiding the issues of needing a needing a Logmein account</note>
        <note>This prgram has few advantagers over TeamViewer which should be used in preference. It is retained in the list for completeness</note>
